Welcome to Summer Fields. We are a boarding and day school for boys aged 4 -13. Set in more than 70 acres of stunning grounds, we are five minutes from the centre of Oxford and about an hour from London.
We pride ourselves on the quality of our staff. They are drawn from many backgrounds, but share one thing – a passion to teach the boys of tomorrow.
Choice of Senior School is one of the most important decisions which parents have to make. We have huge experience in choosing the Senior School which will suit our boys best, and in preparing them for the interview and assessment process.
You are welcome to visit the school at any time. Please contact our Registrar, Christine Berry, if you would like to be shown round, or would just like to receive a prospectus.
Summer Fields is committed to ensuring a Summer Fields education is open to the brightest pupils no matter their personal circumstances. We do this by offering financial assistance with fees, known as a ‘bursary’ through our sister charity, the Maclaren Foundation.
The classroom is just one of our learning arenas. With Oxford on our doorstep we have access to the very best cultural and educational opportunities. Each year group goes on at least one residential trip per year, and there is a day outing once every term for every boy. We have a multitude of interesting destinations in Oxford and the surrounding area, but will frequently go further afield. Last year we took trips to Portsmouth, Devon, Cornwall, The Black Country, Wales, France and Belgium.
Our long-term aims are to ensure that the school remains at the forefront of education in the 21st Century and to ensure that as many boys as possible are able to enjoy the education that we offer.
There is a lot to pack in to a Summer Fields Day. The morning starts at 7.25 with a hearty breakfast in the Dining Hall: porridge, bacon and eggs, toast, hot chocolate and fruit juice are more than likely to be on offer.
