Chris Phillips

Originally from South Wales, Chris studied Three-Dimensional Design at university. After gaining industry experience, he returned to complete a PGCE in Design and Technology. He then spent twenty-five years teaching D&T at GCSE and A-level in various state and independent senior schools before joining Summer Fields in 2018.
His broad range of knowledge encompasses bespoke design and drawing skills. He is proficient in traditional cabinetmaking techniques using wood and metal, and he integrates modern technology into manufacturing processes. Additionally, he delivers courses on coding and robotics. Chris oversees the school's junior and senior electric car racing activities and runs a competition robotics club.
He lives locally with his wife and two children. When not building a wall or shed, or working on the electrics to improve his house, he enjoys camping and hiking in the hills of the UK and France, along with theatre, cinema, and reading.
