Sophie Carter
Classics. Lodge Assistant (Front Lodge)
Teaching and Pastoral
After graduating the University of Exeter with a degree in Classical Studies, I worked at the King's School, Worcester, supporting students academically both inside and outside the classroom, and offering pastoral support to the Lower Years (Years 7 and 8).
I've started at Summer Fields as a member of the Classics Department, teaching Latin and Ancient Greek. I am a Hellenist at heart, and can often be found discussing mythology and the Homeric world with anyone who will listen! I really enjoy bringing the Ancient World to life, and exploring the connection between language learning and ancient literature.
I am also a competitive figure skater, and have begun training at the Oxford ice rink in the mornings before school. I compete nationally and internationally, and love talking about my involvement with paralympic and Inclusive skaters.
I live in Front Lodge, and love spending time with the Year 6 and 7s in Lodge. More importantly however, my two rabbits have also moved to Summer Fields with me; Alfie and Libby have become firm favourites with the boys, and the bunnies can often be seen at the window greeting the boys on their way back to Lodge!
