Jeane joined Summer Fields in September 2013 –  a year after her husband started as our Director of Studies. She is Head of French and in charge of additional languages. She read English and Linguistics at the University of Caen, after which she trained as a teacher of French and Spanish at the University of Bristol. Before coming to Oxford she taught at the Cheltenham Ladies’ College. A keen linguist, she is a professional translator - a hobby in which she mostly indulges by way of translating her son’s favourite books into French so as to encourage his bilingual education. Being a mother and looking after the family farm in Normandy are her main sources of entertainment when not in school.
