Teaching and Pastoral

Originally from North Norfolk, Nicola came to Summer Fields in 1998 as a Year 4 form taker and teacher of English, Maths and History. Before joining Summer Fields, she taught at Garden House School in London. She was educated at Gresham's School in Norfolk and studied English and Philosophy at the University of East Anglia.

Over the years, she has taught a variety of subjects at different age levels; currently she is teaching English and Maths in Year 5 and Humanities in Year 4. She is also a Year 5 form taker. With two sons and two step-sons, and having lived and worked at Summer Fields for many, many years, she is thoroughly familiar with the joys and challenges of life in a boys' prep school!

Her husband, Johnny, retired from teaching at Summer Fields in July 2024. They live in a house in the school grounds with their two sons. They have two dogs, the latest in a long line of black labrador crosses. In her spare time, Nicola enjoys dog walking, reading, listening to podcasts, going to the theatre and cinema, and visiting friends and family in North Norfolk and Keny.
